What is a B2B trade show?

B2B trade shows are used to promote a sector of activity and bring together all the players in this sector in the same place. These trade shows are closed to the public and reserved for professionals only. These events are annualized, and can become an annual event for the brand. The actors of this event are divided into two parts, the visitors and the exhibitors.

Visitors are there to discover the entire show and discover new opportunities. Often armed with a business card to conclude new deals, the visitor represents the brand and ensures that its offers are discovered or new partnerships are found.

Exhibitors are present to showcase their offers. The people running the stand are generally the brand's director and sales staff. Depending on the expectations of professionals, the tone used by salespeople will change. The purpose of having a stand can be purely a marketing action, by showing competitors and potential customers that the brand is present AND/OR finding new prospects.

Why participate in a trade show?

A professional show allows you to develop your business. It allows you to discover new prospects, introduce your brand, discover new expectations or even show your competitors that you are not just anyone!

Now is the time to introduce your new products, services and more! Participants come to discover innovations in these events. A new product will stand out from the crowd and be more likely to be seen. This can create a word of mouth process and spread awareness about your product.

Build loyalty among your customers or future customers by offering goodies of all kinds. The current fashion is for TOTE BAGs bearing the image of the brand, bringing together documentation and other goodies such as personalized pens or key rings.

Choosing the right professional salon:

Before going to a trade show, you need to study it carefully. We must take into account the number of visitors, potential exhibitors but also the purpose of this show. By studying this show, you will be able to develop your communication strategy and the tone used depending on the stands.

We also need to see the scope of the event. If you are looking for a local target, there is no point going to an international event, where most of the participants come from other countries.

But if your goal is to expand your target internationally, there's nothing like a big trade show. Obviously you will need to speak English well, and be able to haggle and present your services to foreign participants. Having international clients helps enormously in increasing your notoriety. In a country where your brand is unknown, having one customer can trigger another, then another…

The profitability of a professional show:

To understand the profitability of a trade show, you will have to evaluate the costs that your brand will spend for this event. A professional show is a real investment. Have to consider :

  • VHR costs (travel, catering, hotel)
  • rental of a stand (if exhibitor)
  • printouts of all documentation
  • the price of the show (if paying)

Visit the B2B trade show website

By connecting to the website of one of the trade shows, you will find the main information: date, location, organizers, the theme, or even its ticketing.

The show website will give the list of exhibitors, this list allows you to see the potential customers, prospects, competitors or partners present. You will be able to better prepare for your arrival at the salon. Better preparation gives you a better argument and fewer unforeseen events. Maximize your chances of closing new deals!

You will also be able to find data such as exhibitor websites, emails, telephone numbers and the names of representatives. Why not get in touch before the trade show? and meet up at the show! It’s up to you to decide on your business strategy!
